U.S.A. the better choice?

Is the "land of opportunity" really the ultimate choice for university? Without having to consider the financial issues, or living costs, or housing situations. I think, the most important part of choosing a university is being able to decide on what you like and what kind of programs fit you the most. The states may just have a better reputation but other places in the world may have great programs that fit all your needs and may even exceed your expectations. So, I believe that you do not have to just limit your choices to the states, but rather, expand to other areas other than the U.S. to experience a diversity of cultures throughout the world.

Talent Show - March 5,2014

Jaguar Airways JA-27 had just taken off and the audience was... crazy, clapping, shouting all sorts of hype going on. The most entertaining event of the year had just happened, being student run, of course, made everything better. The energy was crazy, everyone did amazing. The students had put so much heart into making the whole show. Especially the production team. They had spent so many extra hours, making sure that the whole show ran smoothly and everything was perfect. This was certainly one of the best and memorable talent shows I've ever been to!

Alice in Wonderland & Sherlock Holmes

Alice in Wonderland was an interesting yet confusing story to read. Many surprising twists and turns in each page that I read. This is a book that cannot be read in haste because once you miss something in the book, the more you read on, the less the story makes sense. Many plays on words were put in there.
In British Lit, we have now started to read Sherlock Holmes, and I enjoy reading this because of Holmes' detailed observations. I like to read mystery books or books on crime because it gets you to think of who actually committed the crime.

The Canterbury Tales: The Pardoner's Tale and The Wife of Bath's Tale

The Pardoner's Tale is a very realistic story. I couldn't believe how materialistic the Pardoner was especially, him being a church worker. Trying to cheat the peasants by saying that their sins would be forgiven by buying his goods.  Showing how that every person is greedy and hypocritical, even though they might be a church official.
In the Wife of Bath, Knight rapes someone by the river and is given a year by the queen to find the answer to "what women wants most in the world." I do not see how this is fair considering that he has caused major trauma to this young maiden by raping her. He could have chosen not to , but he did it out of free choice, therefore he should be punished more severely.
Overall, The Canterbury Tales teaches a really important lesson, that no one is perfect. People should embrace that they aren't perfect and use it for good, not to trick people for your own good.

Beowulf

In Beowulf, the interesting alliterations, the vivid descriptions and use of imagery of the characters and their surroundings really brought the poem to life. Beowulf contains the necessary characteristics of a hero, the loyalty, bravery and fighter's skill. At times, Beowulf seemed a bit too proud for his own good, however, everything Beowulf did, was to help people and gain some fame for himself. This is definitely an epic worth reading.
